Mt. SAC
SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM
The Mt. SAC Scholarship Program offers over $200,000 in scholarships to Mt. SAC students.  As cholarship eligibility requirements vary, applicants must review the scholarship brochure and determine which scholarship(s) they may be eligible for.  Applications are due to the Scholarship Program Office by 7:00 p.m. on March 17, 2008.

Mt. SAC Associated Students
BOOK SCHOLARSHIP

Apply for the AS Book $cholarship and you may receive up to $250 for books!
To be eligible, you must:
— Be enrolled in a minimum of 6 units;
— Have no more than 60 units completed;
— Have at least a 2.0 cumulative GPA or be a first time college student;
— Be clear of all financial obligations to Mt. SAC;
— Have a financial aid application on file at Mt. SAC and be determined to have unmet need; and
— Have paid the Student Activities Fee for spring 2008.
*Note: Award winners will be selected on a first-come first-serve basis beginning February 1, 2008 until all funds are exhausted (funds will be available in the form of a gift card to be used at the Mt. SAC bookstore beginning one week prior to the beginning of the fall semester). Priority will be given to students ineligible for a Pell Grant.

Jack Kent Cooke Foundation

UNDERGRADUATE TRANSFER SCHOLARHIP PROGRAM

The Jack Kent Cooke Foundation Undergraduate Transfer Scholarship Program each year awards approximately 50 scholarships to students attending community colleges or two-year institutions in the US and planning to transfer to four-year institutions.

Award
Each award covers a portion of educational expenses, including tuition, living expenses, required fees, and books for the final two to three years of the baccalaureate degree. The amount and duration of awards vary by student based on the cost of attendance and the length of the program as well as other scholarships or grants received. The maximum available per student is $30,000 per year.

Nomination Process
All candidates for the Undergraduate Transfer Scholarship Program must be nominated by the campus representative at their community or two-year institution.

MINIMUM ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS
All Mt. SAC applicants must first submit a completed on-line application and supporting documents to the Mt. SAC Scholarship Program Office by 1/22/08 to be considered for institutional nomination

To be eligible to compete in the Jack Kent Cooke Foundation Undergraduate Transfer Scholarship Program, a candidate must at a minimum

  • Be nominated by his or her two-year institution,
  • Be a current student at an accredited US community college or two-year institution with sophomore status by December 31, 2007, or be a recent graduate (since spring 2003),
  • Have a cumulative college grade point average of 3.50 or better on a 4.0 scale (or the equivalent),
  • Plan to transfer to a four-year college or university to begin studies in fall 2008, and
  • Not have previously been nominated for the Jack Kent Cooke Undergraduate Transfer Scholarship.

To be considered for nomination, students must submit an on-line application and supplemental materials to the Mt. SAC Scholarship Program Office by the Mt. SAC CAMPUS DEADLINE of January 22, 2008 to:
