A hard-working and energetic manager, Dyrell Foster joined the Mt. SAC family in 2004 as the Director of Student Life.

Dr. Foster manages the Student Life Office, its staff, oversees Mt. SAC’s student government and handles disciplinary matters for the College. He also provides assistance and resources for College policies and procedures, and other campus support services.

In 2005 Mt. SAC students honored him with the Educators of Distinction award. He also received recognition for his role as an advisor and his involvement with the Leadership, Education and Development program.

Dr. Foster is very active at the College and serves on various committees such as the Students of Distinction committee, Commencement committee, Student Preparation and Success Council committee, Scholarship committee and the Student Services Management Team.

He came to MT. SAC from Evergreen Valley College, where he served as the Director of Student Life. He also spent time at San Jose State University as the Student Life Activities Coordinator. There he developed and implemented campus events, leadership training, advised more than 200 student clubs, and worked with the Associated Students finance and elections boards.
           
Dr. Foster earned his Bachelor’s degree in Applied Behavioral Science from UC Davis in 1994 where he was also a starting cornerback for the Aggies football team. He went on to earn a Master’s degree in counseling from Cal State Long Beach in 1998 and topped it off with a doctorate in Education from the University of Southern California.
